In the aftermath of Ragnar Cape Cod, I am back to the realities of work travel and trying to fit in my training for the Syracuse 70.3 Ironman. For work travel, this week has brought a trip to KC and for training I have the fun of some higher mileage running, more intense swim workouts and a few longer bikes. (my coach definitely has me in a build cycle…) We’re now down to a little over 6 weeks to go until the big day – but in the meantime, I have my first Duathalon this Saturday! Now I have to admit, I’d be a little more excited about this if my bike fit was complete so I could really test everything out but I guess I’ll just have to roll on with what I’ve got!

Training Schedule – 7 weeks to go! |
Yesterday, I had a trip to KC for work. I am a little worn out on the airline travel, and didn’t realize I had this meeting until the last minute so I attempted my first ever out-and-back, same day flights to KC. Honestly I didn’t think I would make the turn. I figured there would be some hiccup with the flights, but the travel gods must have been on my side yesterday. I made the trip as scheduled – even with my 45 and 30 minute layovers to and from KC (yes, I admit, risky planning). Also, I had the added bonus of being randomly upgraded to first class for my final flight from Minneapolis to Syracuse last night which made the fact that I missed kickball a little less painful (well, not really, but I’m trying to look at the bright side and it’s definitely better than being stuck in the back of the plane). Now if only every trip I have to take could run just as smoothly…
