Better than Yesterday.

Last night’s workout was a tough one.  Tuesday night I was really looking forward to the fact that I had a run on the agenda since I had not run since the long run on Sunday, but when the time came to head to the gym and hit the treadmill, I just did. not. want. to. go.  
I’m not sure if it was the fact that my mom was in town and I wanted to get back to my house to hang out with her for a bit, or if I’m just running low on energy from the increased workout schedules and lack of sleep hours that I have been logging lately.  Either way, what should have been an enjoyable and fairly easy 4.5 mile workout felt more like a 10 mile slog.  However, I just kept trying to remind myself that not every workout has to be the best, nor can every workout be the best.  
After my workout, my mom and I went to dinner, she’s been in town the past few days and it’s been great to catch up with her and play hostess!  Actually, her visit spurred me to whip up a home-cooked meal yesterday consisting of pork tenderloin with an italian spice rub, lemon-dill grilled asparagus, and homemade bread!  (Sadly, I failed to take a picture of this glorious meal.)  I really miss cooking, I need to get better about planning my meals out ahead of time but somehow cooking for myself just is not as fun as cooking for others.
It’s going to be interesting tackling my workout tonight.  I’m scheduled to log a 2100 yard swim workout, I’m hoping the foam rolling I did last night will payoff.  Wish me luck!
