oh what do we do, we swim, swim, swim!
I think I needed Dory’s motivational song found from NEMO tonight for my swimming. I felt so tired and the workout was definitely a chore for me. I think it had something to do with the fact that I had not been in the pool for over a week (just maybe). From here on out, I have to make sure I am getting a minimum 2 or 3 workouts in the pool each week!
Overall, I swam 1000 meters tonight but I rested after each 50m increment. When doing the front crawl, I can complete 50 m within 1 minute – so the 800 m swim could be finished in 16 minutes if I manage to build superb endurance. I’m thinking a more realistic goal will be about a 20 minute swim for me. I have a feeling that I will have to intermix the breast stroke in with my front crawl the day of the race….
However, I definitely want to train for the front crawl since that is the fastest way to get from A to B on race day. I really wish I had a coach or some pointers for training this swimming portion of the race. I guess I’ll just need to keep thinking of Dory… Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming….
